    The Clinical Medical Assisting diploma program provides an in-depth study of the medical science of the human body including anatomy, physiology and pathology of the body systems, clinical techniques including examining room procedures, medical lab procedures, medical terminology, pharmacology and administrative procedures. The Clinical Medical Assisting diploma program prepares the graduate to pursue entry-level positions in the healthcare field working in clinical and/or administrative settings under a variety of titles: Medical Assistants, Medical Receptionist, Medical Office Administrator, Medical Technician, Cardiac Technician amongst others.

  • Dental Assistant Diploma Program

    The Dental Assisting Diploma program prepares students for entry-level positions as a chair-side dental assistant and dental business office assistant. The competencies for this course follow the duties and responsibilities of a dental assistant as outlined by the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry. Topics of study include anatomy and physiology, dental health and nutrition, oral histology, tooth form and structure, preventive dentistry, infection control, dental laboratory procedures, radiography, orthodontics, patient care, healthcare laws and regulations (OSHA and HIPAA) and general dental office administration and management.

  • Dialysis Technician Diploma Program

    Dialysis Technicians, also sometimes referred to by the dialysis clinics as Patient Care Technicians or Hemodialysis Technicians function in multiple roles. The Dialysis Technician Diploma program prepares graduates for entry-level positions in the healthcare field as a primary caregiver for patients with kidney disease and who may undergo dialysis treatment. Due to the comprehensive curriculum that covers patient care, infectious diseases and phlebotomy, our graduates may pursue jobs working under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses primarily in hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities, or home dialysis programs as patient care technicians or dialysis technicians.

  • Health Information Management, Billing and Coding (HIMBC) Program

    The HIMBC program prepares students for entry-level positions in medical insurance, billing and coding, as well as in medical office administration. Both the diploma and degree programs cover the basics of medical billing and coding along with healthcare administration. The degree program also provides additional, advanced training in HIMBC along with General Education requirements common to an Associate’s Degree program.

  • Massage Therapy Diploma Program

    The Massage Therapy Diploma program provides a solid foundation in anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology that form the basis for training in specific massage therapy techniques. Hands-on techniques include Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage, Basic Shiatsu and Supervised Clinical Practice. The diploma program prepares the student for entry-level positions in the massage therapy industry. Successful completion of this diploma program qualifies the graduate to test for massage therapy licensure or registry in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi and provides eligibility to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Examination.

  • Cosmetology Diploma Program

    The Cosmetology Diploma program is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/art principles and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. Blue Cliff’s program combines lectures in cosmetology theory with “hands-on” practice in the salon. It also introduces students to professional standards, aspects of personal and career development and the legal and ethical responsibilities of workers who interact physically with clients and apply cosmetics. Blue Cliff’s approach provides a simulated salon environment that enables students to develop manipulative skills and knowledge that can lead to an entry-level career in the field of Cosmetology. Graduates of the cosmetology program are eligible to take examinations required for licensure as a Cosmetologist.

    The Blue Cliff College Esthetics Diploma program is designed to provide the scientific knowledge, artistic principles and hands-on practice needed to become a skincare professional. Students are introduced to industry professional standards, to aspects of personal and career development and to the legal and ethical responsibilities of workers who interact physically with the public.   • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician Training

    Blue Cliff’s training program provides dedicated students with the advanced knowledge and practical skills that are needed to obtain entry-level employment in this lucrative trade. As part of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician diploma program, students will learn how to inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC systems; how to connect systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other components; and how to install electrical wiring and controls and test for proper operation.

  • Clinical and Administrative Medical Assisting (CAMA) – Associate Degree

    The Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant (CAMA) program focuses on the clinical skills and administrative skills needed to assist physicians and nurses in a physician’s office and other health care settings. This program requires students to have completed a Medical Assistant Diploma program, such as Blue Cliff College’s Clinical Medical Assisting Program or a similar program at another school before enrolling. Students will learn how to take patient vital signs, perform standard examinations, phlebotomy/hematology techniques, laboratory procedures and electrocardiography (ECG). Students also learn basic medical office administration procedures including reception, patient scheduling, coding and insurance, and electronic health record management.

    The Diploma in Medical Office Administration provides graduates with the skills needed to perform successfully in today’s medical office environment. The student is provided with the necessary medical office skills and theory to enable them to understand the day-to-day demands of the medical office environment.
